Phototheca

Phototheca is a free photo-management software to make viewing, arranging, and organizing all your image files much easier and more effective. Label your pictures with key words, move albums, view them on a calendar according to the day they were taken, and delete duplicate files.

This tool will import your local drive's pictures, selecting all the folders that contain JPG, PNG, GIF, and BMP files. The pictures will remain in their original locations and Phototheca will show their location regardless of the way in which the images are organized and moved around in the library.

Phototheca also automatically imports photos from memory cards, USBs, and removable drives. Also, if the photos have already been imported, the program will recognize that and won't copy them to the disk again, avoiding duplicates.

All your images will be organized into events when they're imported. They'll be divided according to the time and date they were taken, and different events can be combined if they lasted for more than one day.

Phototheca's albums and smart folders can be filled with pictures of different events by just dragging and dropping files into the program.

Also, thanks to this program, you won't have to spend hours looking through your folders for a specific image. Its calendar view (with three different designs) will show you all the pictures and navigate through the months and years, looking through your photo history and finding the ones you're looking for, as long as you remember roughly when they were taken.
